Fifth Third Bancorp To Offer Online Letter of Credit

10/11/00 - Cincinnati-based Fifth Third Bancorp today announced it has entered a deal with the New York-based Ec-Finance Company to offer letters of credit online.

The bank said it has signed a partnership with ec-Finance to provide business-to-business financing on the Internet beginning Oct. 20.

John Perez, Keybank vice president for international banking, said the arrangement with ec-Finance will enable his institution to enter the online, import/export trade.

Fifth Third, is the market-share leader in deposits in the Dayton area, and is scheduled to report its third quarter financial results Oct. 16. The $45 billion asset bank based in Cincinnati has 68 branches in the Miami.
